The Home Office’s new grant making programme to encourage small and medium sized
enterprises (SMEs) to set up Payroll Giving schemes is now live. The Payroll Giving
Grants programme is a Home Office-funded initiative, administered and promoted by
the Institute of Fundraising, in partnership with Business in the Community.
Any
employer, business or charity alike, is eligible for a £500 grant to set up Payroll
Giving Schemes so long as the organisation has fewer than 500 employees. In addition
the first £10 of each employee’s monthly donations will be matched by the Government
for a period of six months.

The aim of this UK-wide programme is to provide sustainable income sources for charities
by increasing the number of employers and employees engaged in Payroll Giving.
