Canada for Asia, to be screened today, is expected to be Canada’s biggest broadcast
fundraising event to date.
Canadian musicians, sports stars, authors, comedians
and celebrities, together with aid agencies and broadcasters are joining tonight
to present what they say will be Canada’s biggest ever broadcast fundraising event.
Canada for Asia will raise funds for relief and long-term development in the communities
affected by the earthquake and tsunami in the Indian Ocean.

Confirmed participants include Mike Myers, Margaret Atwood, Celine Dion, Bryan Adams,
Rush and The Tragically Hip.

The three-hour event is being broadcast across Canada by a range of TV and radio
stations. Canadian Forces Radio and Television services will also broadcast the
concert live to Canadian troops in Kabul, Bosnia, the Golan Heights and the Sinai.
