**Department for Education and Skills (DfES) secondee Julie Haycock is to take on
the role of Schools Manger as the Giving Nation campaign enters its third year.**

Giving Nation (G-Nation) is an initiative that motivates young people to engage
with charity.

The DfES already part-funds Giving Nation. Julie has over ten years experience in
education and replaces Carolyn Holcroft, who spent two years with the project from
conception and has retired this year.

Julie said: “Giving Nation is already present in over half of UK secondary schools,
but we still have much to do in terms of engaging schools in charity and community
activity and working with teachers on maximising on the resources available to them.”
