# Draft Charities Bill likely by mid-May 2004

Baroness Amos has confirmed that a draft Charities Bill is expected to be published
in mid-May 2004.
Speaking in the House of Lords, Baroness Amos was responding to
a suggestion from Lord Renton that the newly-established joint Committee to scrutinise
the draft Charities Bill should report sooner than the original suggested date. 
She confirmed that the draft Bill was close to publication, and that the Joint Committee
will be asked to report by 30

September 2004.
