BBC Learning Zone, BBC 2’s overnight record and play education service will be retransmitting
its series of programmes working in the community later this month.
The BBC’s ‘
Working in the Community’ is a two-week series which takes a look at working as
a volunteer, how volunteers can change people’s lives, how to raise funds, deal
with the media, reflect the diversity of a community and communicate well with people.
It features advice on how to apply for lottery funding for community groups and
there is also a practical guide to health and safety for those organisations using
volunteers.

‘Working in the Community’ transmits each weekday from Monday 11 to Friday 22 August
2003 on BBC 2 from 05.00-06.00.
