# Online and SMS auctions

Here’s the latest roundup of online and SMS auctions being run by charities.
Model
Elle Macpherson recently had her body cast as she stood in one of Selfridges’s shop
windows. The casting was part of the London store’s Body Craze event. The original
cast will be auctioned next week in an SMS auction run by Flytxt with income from
the 50p messages being donated to children’s charity Ark.

Children’s charity Kidsout is running an online auction offering a day out for four
at Silverstone race track as the top prize. The auction runs from 23 May to 2 June
2003. Promotion of the event included a viral e-mail campaign and a dedicated URL–
www.kidsoutauction.co.uk.

British Heart Foundation aims to raise £10,000 with an online auction hosted by 
eBay in British Heart Week (7-15 June). Lots include a Formula 1 Ferrari team shirt
signed by Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barricello.
