The Center for Effective Philanthropy in the USA has published _Indicators of Effectiveness:
Understanding and Improving Foundation Performance_, indicating how foundations
can measure the effectiveness of their grant-making.
How effective is a grant-making
foundation’s giving? The Center for Effective Philanthropy has spent eight months
looking for indicators that can help foundations understand and improve their grant-
making performance. The results are now published in Indicators of Effectiveness:
Understanding and Improving Foundation Performance.

In particular, the Center was looking for indicators that were simple, timely and
inexpensive to collect.

The report is available in Adobe Acrobat format (PDF).
