Wootton George Consulting Ltd has
won the contract with the Anglican Diocese of Leicester to plan and implement a
new legacy campaign.

Leicester is the latest Anglican Diocese to see the potential of people leaving
money in their wills to support its churches. It is now embarking on a long-term
initiative to put legacies back on the giving agenda. Of course, many churches were
built with legacy income, but it would seem that Christians have lost the habit
of leaving money to the church in their wills.

Leicester Diocese follows the examples of Lichfield and Worcester Dioceses, which
have both launched campaigns to promote legacies in recent years. Like them, Leicester
is also using the expertise of charity consultant Simon George, who has designed
numerous legacy campaigns for church and secular organisations.

Simon George said: The Leicester campaign comes at a time of growing awareness of
the value of legacies for charities and churches. The Diocese has made an important
move to secure its long-term income and we look forward to working with them to
build their campaign.”
