Law firm Nabarro Nathanson has released the results of its survey of charities’
Web sites.
The firm claims that 39% of charities that featured links on their Web
sites to commercial participator-run fundraising activities were operating illegally.
The charities did not have commercial participator agreements in place with these
companies, whose services included running events or donating a percentage of sales
to the charity.

The report _Online: How Charities Use the Web_ compiled results from the firm’s
140 charity clients.

The survey examined online income and found that 67% of charities have not seen
any increase in online donations over the past two years. Only 2% had experienced
a doubling in online income, with 20% seeing rises of up to 25%.
