The US Association of
Fundraising Professionals (AFP), has released a study of the charitable giving habits
of wealthy, high-tech executives. AFP claims that The High Tech Donor Study is “
the first qualitative, interview-intensive report providing in-depth analysis of
how high-tech philanthropists view their giving and the long-range implications
of their involvement in the non-profit sector.”

Despite current poor economic circumstances, all respondents indicated that they
intend to be involved with charity now and throughout their lives. Nearly all stated
that they are still learning how to give and how to establish their own philanthropic
identity.
