Many organisations’ Web sites are so badly designed that journalists can not use them to find the information they need.
If you want journalists to use your Web site, you had better make sure you are making it easy for them. A survey by Nielson Norman found that 40% of journalists could not find key information on corporate Web sites. Sites made it difficult for journalists to find a PR contact, locate press> releases, and gather financial information.
Not surprisingly, some of the journalists surveyed said that a poor Web site could damage their view of a company.
The survey includes 22 design guidelines.
