If you really want, you can register a .org, .net, or .com domain name that is 63
characters long. In fact only 0.8% of all domain names are over 25 characters long.
Effective domain names should of course be short or at least easy to remember.

So how long are other domain names? Matthew Zook of Zooknic.com reports that the
median length of all generic top level domain names is eleven characters, while
the median length for .net and .org domain names is ten characters.
