The Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE) has announced that it will launch an
investment index listing global ethical companies. It will donate all its licence
fees, estimated to top $1 million, to Unicef.

The index, to be called the FTSE 4Good UK is one of a set of indices developed in
partnership with the Ethical Investment Research Service. It will go live in June
2001.

Makepace to a UNICEF project in Ghana in 2000.
