# BBC promotes giving online to Comic Relief

At the end of last night’s Comic Relief film on BBC1 about the work it supports 
it Rwanda, there appeared a short fundraising appeal suggesting viewers donate via
credit card using the telephone. Straight afterwards came an addendum to the film
suggesting that viewers might also like to donate online at the BBC’s Red Nose Day
Web site.

This is the first example of Comic Relief mentioning online donations on TV before
Comic Relief Day. In 1999, online donations were mentioned on TV only on the day
