In the UK both Gordon Brown MP and William Hague MP have spoken of their desire
to incorporate the skills and capacity of voluntary faith-based organisations in
the development of the voluntary sector. In the USA President Bush is now putting
government money behind this idea. He has established a new office to distribute
government grants to religious groups and charities.

In doing so, he has been criticised by some organisations for blurring the traditional
distinction between church and state in the USA, particularly with regard to government
funding.
