This year’s appeal by the [Independent newspaper](http://www.indepdendent.co.uk)
is on behalf of Hope for Children. While the newspaper today mentions the children’s
charity’s Web site address and a freephone donation number, there is no mention
of tax-payer status on the donation form printed on the newspaper’s donation form.
Either the newspaper or the charity has therefore missed the opportunity of recouping
28% of the tax paid on many donors’ donations.

If the Chancellor’s charity tax reform changes this April passed your charity by,
visit Charities Aid Foundation for a quick primer.
