**eVolunteer has been helping charities recruit volunteers via the Web since July
2000.**

Charities and volunteers can register to post and receive details of volunteer opportunities.
You can search the opportunities by free text, category and organisation.[](https://web.archive.org/web/20010122010300/http://www.evolunteer.co.uk/)

One particularly useful facility offered by the site is the code for a link from
a charity’s Web site to the full list of its vacancies listed on eVolunteer. Would-
be volunteers are therefore just one click away from a charity’s list of volunteer
vacancies.

The site’s founders are happy to declare their passion for using the Web for volunteer
recruitment, and back their ethical approach by using Open Source software in running
the site.
