Raffles and auctions are undoubtedly the most popular online events used by charities
to raise funds. Some of the prizes and lots now on offer are impressive.
For example,
[Reef Check](http://www.ReefCheck.org), the international coral reef survey and
conservation programme, have teamed up with [www.HelpandWin.com](http://www.helpandwin.com)
to raffle a home site on a pristine 500 acre island off Acadia National Park, Maine,
USA. Every donation of $20 buys one ticket in the raffle. In addition to the $450,000
property, the winner will receive $150,000, to be used, if desired, to build an
island dream home.
