And you thought a sponsored cycle ride across Asia was a prestigious fundraising
event. We have now all been outclassed, it would seem, by Welsh businessman Peter
Llewelyn, who plans a sponsored journey into space.

And you thought a sponsored cycle ride across Asia was a prestigious fundraising
event. We have now all been outclassed, it would seem, by Welsh businessman Peter
Llewelyn, who plans a sponsored journey into space. Mr Llewelyn will fly to the
Mir space station as a sponsored effort to raise funds for a hospital for children
in Moscow.

News of the event broke earlier than Mr Llewelyn planned, and there is some doubt
that the flight will go ahead, according to the Russian space agency. Still, if
it comes off, beware supporters encouraging you to sponsor Mr Llewelyn by the mile.
