A range of charities have woken up to the opportunities for free publicity offered
by the growing number of Internet-related publications. This month’s .net magazine
kicks off with a calendar of events coming up. A good number of the site’s listed
belong to non-profit organisations, and several are advertising their fundraising
or campaigning week.
For example:

17 October: [United Nations International Day for the Eradication of Poverty](http://www.un.org)

19 October: [Amnesty International UK week begins](http://www.amnesty.org.uk)

31 October: [Voluntary Euthanasia Society AGM](http://www.euthanasia.org)

4 November: Fashion Show to raise funds for the [Lord Mayor’s Appeal](http://www.the-lord-mayors-appeal.org.uk)
London

.net magazine currently has an ABC-audited circulation of 50,161 so this is valuable
free publicity.
