American Philanthropy Review has launched its sixteenth nonprofit/NGO sector discussion
forum, [CharitySoft](http://charitychannel.com/Forums). The forum will host discussions
on a wide range of software and Internet-related issues.
Discussions on charities’
use of the Internet may include, for example, building Web sites, raising money
online, developing databases, building networks, buying computer services; the rise
of virtual nonprofits, building online community through discussion forums and electronic
newsletters, delivering nonprofit services on the Internet, Internet strategic planning,
the role of webmasters in the nonprofit setting, developing online membership, online
advocacy, legal issues and the Internet, virtual volunteering, publishing news and
information on the Web, and the Internet and foundations.

The software component is focused on helping charities make “intelligent choices.”
Discussions may include, for example, selecting the right donor tracking, event,
auction, gift planning, endowment management, accounting, and the Internet. Discussion
of software will probably look at the good, the bad, and the ugly of software programs,
dialog between software vendors and nonprofit organizations and news of the latest
product releases.

CharitySoft is an international list open to any individual in any country with
an interest in the topic. For example, the list is open to individuals in the nonprofit/
NGO sector, to Internet consultants, to fund development or other nonprofit consultants,
to software vendors anywhere in the world.
