The Edinburgh Festival is now offering tickets for sale online for the first time.
With donated servers from Compaq, the arts organisation is running a [ticket sales pilot ](http://www.go-edinburgh.co.uk).
However, the system isn’t linked to the box office database, so only a set number
of tickets in each block of each venue are available for purchase online. The Royal
Bank of Scotland is handling the online credit card transactions, but there is a
5% premium on tickets bought online.
