The Museum of London has received a donation via the Internet. The gift was not
monetary but took the form of early 20th century documents and artefacts that had
belonged to a Smithfields market butcher. The donation was made by the butcher’s
son, who is now retired and lives in Portland, Oregon. He was using the Internet
and was “so impressed by the Museum of London’s site that he decided to send it [
his father’s] historic objects”.
