Oxfam UK & Ireland is demonstrating an innovative integration between Web-based
and paper-based information for existing donors.
Last month covenantors and regular
givers received their full-colour Summer issue of Oxfam Reports to explain how their
donations were being spent. The magazine and accompanying letter encouraged donors
to visit the new Oxfam Reports Web site if they wanted to read in more detail about
the stories covered.

The pages are designed for regular donors, but are not restricted to this audience.
Sensibly, Oxfam’s fundraisers have realised that other visitors to the Web site
might read these reports. They have therefore included not only an option to make
a secure one-off donation, but also to make a regular donation by banker’s standing
order.

This [online form](http://www.oneworld.org/cgi-bin/babel/oxfamreports.pl?donate/regular.html")
is another good example of merging the Web with paper-based documents. The donor
fills in the required details, and a form is then prepared bearing these details
for the donor to confirm, and then print out for manual signature and posting. The
Web can’t yet cope with transmitting manual signatures simply, but that’s no reason
not to use it to generate regular gifts with forms for printing out.
