This poll is derived from an article on 20 May in The Independent by Danny Fortson, Hedge funds get the bug for benevolence, which stated:

"Nearly 15 per cent of the £8.7bn donated to charity in the UK last year was given by the 30 most wealthy individuals, nearly triple figure for the year before, according to the Charities Aid Foundation."
