Ian Botham launches charity chocolates

Submitted by howardlake on 1 September, 2008 - 13:43.

A new range of chocolates has been produced in support of Sir Ian Botham's 2008 charity walk and are available for a suggested donation of £1, with all profits going to Leukaemia Research.

Forty golden tickets have been hideen in some of the packs of the limited edition chocolates, in the style of Roald Dahl's 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. Those who find them will win a chance to meet and walk with Bowtham on one of the nine days of the walk.

The chocolates are made by Yorkshire chocolatiers Whitakers and will be available in Wickes stores nationwide. Marks & Spencer, one of this year's sponsors, will also be selling the treats in each of the nine M&S stores where Sir Ian will begin his walks this October.

The former cricketer's 12th charity walk starts in Taunton where he started his cricket career and the place he first met youngsters with leukaemia who inspired him to start his fundraising walks.

From there he will walk in Windsor, Tunbridge Wells, Bury St Edmunds, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Llandudno, Harrogate, Milngavie (near Glasgow), and ending in Durham on 18 October.
