Deadline for Guardian Charities Awards is 1 August

Entries for the Guardian Charity Awards 2008 close on 1 August. Five winning charities will each receive £6,000, a new PC form Trams Ltd, six months of consultancy from NCVO, and a media services package from Media Trust.

The awards aim to recognise and encourage small to medium sized charities which are making an outstanding and valuable contribution to social welfare in the community.
