Jeans for Genes Day is "the ultimate dress down Friday", in support of children with genetic disorders. Colleagues at work and children at school are able to 'pay' for permission to wear their jeans instead of the usual work clothes or uniform and enjoy a day of 'denimised fun'.

World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

Initiated by RoadPeace in 1993, this day is now a globally recognised day, following the adoption by the UN General Assembly on 26th October 2005 of a resolution to recognise the third Sunday in November of every year as the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, as an "appropriate acknowledgement for victims of road traffic crashes and their families".

Introduced by the International Diabetes Federation, and the World Health Organisation in 1991, World Diabetes Day has been celebrated by diabetes representative organisations worldwide ever since. The date of 14 November was chosen because it marks the birthday of Frederick Banting, who, along with Charles Best, is credited with the discovery of insulin.
