Soccer Aid has raised more than twice as much as UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund, expected.
Soccer Aid, created by singer Robbie Williams, involved teams of celebrities and "football legends" training and then playing in a match at Old Trafford. The project was broadcast daily on ITV1 and ITV2, from 22-27 May.

This year's Taste of London food festival in Regent's Park (June 15 - 18) will feature The Critz, a teashop staffed entirely by restaurant critics. The teashop's income will be divided between two food-related charities.

Full search agency Bigmouthmedia is to help Sport Relief drive search engine traffic to this year's sportrelief.com website.
Bigmouthmedia worked on the first Sport Relief campaign in 2004 and claims to have helped drive "more than 60 million hits to the sportrelief.com website."

The National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS) is promoting its fundraising challenge events by using an online affiliate programme, offering to pay website owners a commission for each sign-up generated.
NDCS is using the Affiliatefuture network to promote its challenge events. The charity will pay £20 commission per sign-up.

British Energy's staff have chosen Help the Hospices as their charity of the year for 2006-7, the third year that the company has partnered with a national charity. Last year the company raised more than £350,000 for The Prince's Trust.

Philanthropy research organisation New Philanthropy Capital has published a new report to help donors and funders decide where their giving can make the most impact in the area of adults facing mental health problems.
The report, "Don't mind me", also sets out to helps donors and funders understand the issues facing adults with mental health problems.

Charities are well represented among speakers at New Media Age magazine's Effectiveness Awards Masterclass.
On 23 June at the Soho Hotel a range of businesses and charities will share their experiences of how their campaigns won NMA Effectiveness Awards.
Charities speaking include Cancer Research UK and Comic Relief, and they will be joined by Live8.

The Atlantic Philanthropies has announced that its chief executive officer, John R. Healy, will step down in September 2007. Mr Healy, who was appointed CEO for a five-year term in September 2001, has agreed to extend his term for an additional year before returning to his home country, Ireland.

Thousands of employees from Centrica, whose brands include British Gas and Dyno, have raised more than £370,000 for NCH, the children's charity, through their year-long campaign 'Helping Children Shine'. The company contributed an additional £30,000 making a total donation of £400,000.

The newly redesigned June issue of Alliance magazine has just been published and includes a special feature on donors and learning.
In this month's Alliance magazine Jenny Hyatt and Allan Kaplan set out "a paradigm for the learning organisation" and argue that donors' practice has generally fallen short of it. Their article is one of two available to read online at no charge.
