The Community Channel has launched a bid to become the first community-owned national TV, online and mobile brand for social impact.
Founded and run for sixteen years as a wholly owned subsidiary by The Media Trust, the Community Channel is now looking to become independent and, as a Community Benefit Society, is seeking investors to buy community shares to help it the £300,000 it needs to become independent and grow.

The only TV channel in the UK dedicated to showcasing social good, Community Channel has so far trained, filmed, showcased and resourced nearly 4,000 charities, and tripled its advertising, sponsorship and partnership income to over £300,000 since launch. Last year, ten million unique viewers tuned in to the channel, according to figures from BARB.
The Community Channel has launched its campaign on Crowdfunder to raise the funds, with a deadline of 30th June. More information is available on the campaign page: www.crowdfunder.co.uk/community-channel.
