Corporate fundraising round-up for May 2016

Here are seven corporate fundraising partnerships for May that are supporting charities across the UK in a variety of ways.
From raising funds through in-store and online promotions, bring and buy sales, raffles, and jewellery lines to arranging introductions to possible benefactors and profile-raising, giving practical help and more: there are many ways in which corporate partners can help charities:

1) Mars Petcare, Tesco and Battersea Dogs & Cats Home

Mars Petcare and Tesco have been raising money for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home as well as other animal shelters during National Pet Month, which ended on 17th May. The two companies ran a joint in-store and online promotion to raise £150,000, part of which will go towards Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. The remainder will be split between seven other animal charities and rescue centres, including: Hula Animal Rescue, Manchester District Home for Lost Dogs, and Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home.

2) Queen Margaret’s & Kyra Women’s Project

York girls school Queen Margaret’s has raised £1,000 for Kyra Women’s Project, which helps local women cope with challenging circumstances such as depression, bereavement and domestic abuse. The money will go towards the charity’s work supporting women through difficult life changes such as divorce, bullying or alcohol problems at its one-stop-centre in St Saviourgate. The school has raised the funds through a bring and buy sale, and a raffle at its annual dance show.

3) Bell Ingram & Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance

Perthshire-based land and estate agent Bell Ingram has donated £4,000 to Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) as part of their ongoing partnership. The partnership began at the beginning of 2015 and is initially for three years. Bell Ingram helps the charity through monetary contributions as well as profile-raising and introductions to possible benefactors, and staff who choose to fundraise on behalf of SCAA also have their efforts match-funded to a maximum of £500 per person.

4) Bulgari & Save the Children

Bulgari has created a new sterling silver and black ceramic bracelet for its Save the Children jewellery collection, which also includes a ring and pendant. With the Save the Children logo, the bracelet is available in Bulgari stores worldwide, and retails for £360 with a £60 donation to the charity. To date, the sales of the custom-designed Bulgari collection has helped to raise £1 million for Save the Children.

5) CRASH & The Pilsdon Community

Construction industry charity CRASH has expanded its beneficiary base to support hospices as well as homelessness charities with its building projects. It has been working closely with patron company Dulux Trade to create colour schemes conducive to improving the mental health of clients, patients, staff and volunteers at homelessness and hospice charities. It has also recently worked with patron companies British Gypsum and BAM Construct UK to renovate and rebuild The Pilsdon Community, a working farm and refuge in Dorset.

6) Maiden Voyage, Oulten Hall & Calderdale Smartmove

Hotel Oulten Hall in Leeds is donating duvets, pillows, and furniture from bedrooms undergoing refurbishment to Calderdale Smartmove, which helps homeless and vulnerably housed people. The venture was developed by Maiden Voyage travel website founder Carolyn Pearson to help hotels support their local charities by donating old supplies instead of sending them to landfill.
 

7) Unearthed & Action Against Hunger

Unearthed has launched a limited edition Mixed Olives with Artichoke & Feta dish that sees 10p from every pack sold go to Action Against Hunger. The dish has been created by author and chef Sabrina Ghayour, and is available in Waitrose. Unearthed has been supporting Action Against Hunger since 2010 and has so far raised £430,000 for the charity through donations of 1p from every pack of unearthed® sold.
