25p from every PizzaExpress Padana pizza to be donated to Macmillan

PizzaExpress restaurants are partnering with Macmillan Cancer Support. Fundraising activities include the donation of 25p from every Padana pizza sold nationwide.
The donation will be applied to all versions of the pizza including the classic, Romana, Leggera and gluten-free options. So far, Padana sales have raised £55,000 for Macmillan.
Fundraising activities started on 9 May with local restaurants offering a Pizza-shaped coin collector, and staff who will be able to chat to customers about the partnership.
The partnership is not just about fundraising. It will include a series of events in PizzaExpress restaurants nationwide which will help to provide a comfortable and familiar place for people affected by cancer to share their experiences.

Installation art from PizzaExpress products

Michelle Wibowo's food art installation for Macmillan Cancer Support and Pizza Express

Ingredients of a partnership: food artist Michelle Wibowo’s installation

To launch the partnership, food artist Michelle Wibowo has created a striking 6ft x 14ft art installation made entirely from products on the PizzaExpress menu. It depicts a collection of hands signifying strength and support.
It took her nine hours to make, and involved 6kg of capers, 6.5kg of cherry tomatoes, 4.5kg of yellow peppers and 2.5kg of jalapenos, and much more.

Wibowo commented:

“To me, the installation perfectly captures the core essence of the partnership: that no one should have to face cancer alone. I am delighted that I was approached to design the piece – it was immensely fun and rewarding to make.”
