IWITOT 2015 showcases three up-and-coming fundraisers

The fourth annual I Wish I’d Thought of That is to take place in London in September at the Museum of London. As well as experienced fundraisers sharing in just seven minutes each the campaign that inspired them, the event will once again feature three up-and-coming fundraisers.

This year’s speakers at the SOFII fundraising ideas-sharing event include the British Heart Foundation’s Director of Fundraising Lou Parkes, the DEC’s Head of Fundraising Adil Husseini, and the Institute of Fundraising’s Chief Executive Peter Lewis.

I Want to Talk at That

Three speaking slots are taken by the winners of ‘I Want to Talk at That’, a competition first introduced last year to give up-and-coming fundraisers the chance to speak at the event.

This years winners are PDSA’s Laura Croudace (who blogs on UK Fundraising), Scope’s Alexandra Aggis, and Stephanie Drummond from the Children’s Society who all impressed the judges during the audition process.
I Wish I’d Thought of That (once you’ve written that a few times you can understand why its organisers refer to it as IWITOT), is not just educational but also competitive. The audience will vote for their favourite campaign using their mobile phones at the end.

Tobin Aldrich, CEO of the Misfit Foundation and one of this years’ judges said:

“We had an amazing standard of applications from young fundraisers wanting to speak at IWITOT 2015. The future of our profession is in good hands. There will be some great examples to share on the day and I’m sure everyone going will learn much and be greatly inspired.”

Tickets

Tickets are now available on the SOFII website, with sponsors Open Fundraising providing audience giveaways and a drinks reception after the event. Money raised from ticket sales and the text vote during the event help fund SOFII’s website, which showcases hundreds of fundraising ideas and inspiration.

‘IWITOT’ 2015 will be held in The Weston Theatre at The Museum of London on 10 September 2015 from 1.30pm until 5pm, followed by a free drinks reception and winners presentation in the garden.

IWITOT is also taking place at the International Fundraising Congress in October in the Netherlands.
